Maxine Bone is a renowned contemporary oil painter known for her hyper-realistic wildlife and landscape depictions. Raised on a farm in Zimbabwe, her love of nature and conservation was nurtured during childhood visits to the Zambezi River and Mana Pools National Park. In 2004, amidst political unrest, her family relocated to the U.S. where she was introduced to the art world by her father, acclaimed wildlife artist, Craig Bone. Under his mentorship she developed her skills, often watching him paint and learn through trial and error.
Now based in Fairfax, VA, Maxine’s work ranges from hyperrealism to more expressive, vibrant styles. She tailors her approach to each piece, whether capturing the intricate details of a big cat’s fur or using dramatic brushstrokes for a scene with strong lighting. Through her art, Maxine aims to inspire, evoke nostalgia, and foster a deeper appreciation for the natural world.
