Living along the West Coast, Brenda Boylan studied and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Applied Art & Design at Cal Poly State and began her creative career as a designer for high profile sportswear clients in the Pacific Northwest. Ten years later Boylan made the change over to fine art, earning her Signature Memberships with the Pastel Society of America, The Laguna Plein Air Painters Association, and the Northwest Pastel Society. She paints competitively in national plein air events and is an enthusiastic teacher of the pastel medium. Her work has been published in The Pastel Journal (cover story), Plein Air Magazine, The Best of America Pastel, and displayed at the Favell Museum, The Butler Institute of American Art Museum, The National Arts Club in NYC and the Oregon Historical Museum.
