With this painting I wanted to continue with the theme of icons, this time Canadian wildlife and the black bear. A black bear skull, lying on a Hudsons Bay Blanket, with the red maple placed over the frontal lobe area of the skull. This piece, also inspired by the works of O'Keeffe, speaks to the indomitable Canadian spirit and mindfulness of nature.
