There is a private garden in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains (in the Southeastern United States) that has an elaborate
hedge maze that leads to a meditation sanctuary with ancient Indian doors featuring bas-relief carvings depicting scenes from
the Kama Sutra. More than just a sexual manual, the Kama Sutra encompasses the art of living a fulfilled life, intertwining
spiritual, emotional, and physical aspects of existence. By photographing these carvings through an array of prisms mounted to
my camera lens, the refracted light revealed brilliant colors which reflected the vibrant energy and passionate pursuit of life that
this philosophy embraces.
