Irena Sendler

Irena Sendler was a Polish woman who saved over 2500 Jewish children during the Holocaust. She was eventually captured and sentenced to death. On the day of her execution, she escaped and actually was able to live out her life in peace.

I use the gold halo in these paintings because they are a symbol of angels in Art History.
