Wow! This painting is peek maximalism and it is just packed full and bursting at the seems. This is part of a series I'm calling "This One Weird Trick" mostly because the paintings in the series all involve using this specific method of smearing dark paint around with a sculpting wedge over bright colored backgrounds. But dang does it create a heck of a space to dive into in this painting. The fact that it is a triptych too; look, I'm writing this in 2023 and I can't believe this painting wasn't in the archive yet and I was on fire when I made this.
