This is a painting I made during my 2019 artists residency at the Studios at MASS MoCA. It was a couple months before the birth of my son and I was immersing myself in natural childbirth technique and philosophy, the content of some books on the matter represented in snippets of text in this painting. This painting represents change, looking back at what has been and looking forward to what will be with excitement and trepidation.
