This is a bright little painting in watercolor and acrylic ink on watercolor paper. This is a painting from 2013 and you can see some techniques that become more dominant in my future work. I'm using pouring techniques here, but without the pouring medium. I'm working wet on wet, and am interested in how the acrylic ink would eat into the still drying watercolor. I like how the bright colors in this painting sit next to each other and just barely mix together. Lots of variation in marks, from delicate watercolor washes to thin traces of ink lines to pools of ink poured into ink and left to dry. The painting feels playful, light, and full of joy.
