This is part of a series of ten small paintings that I made all at the same time in the following sizes: six 11 x 8.5 inches on textured polypropylene (Yupo), one 14 x 11 inches on gessobord, one 16 x 12 inches on watercolor paper, one 16 x 12 inches on canvas, and one 40 x 26 inches on textured polypropylene.
This is the one on gessobord. There is poured paint in sky blue tones on top over layers of vine pattern, overlapping circles, and hexagon / grid pattern (in Sharpie). Under it all is watercolor in warm tones; reds and yellows. The blues sit uncomfortably on top. It's all kind of a mess. Myself, I don't know I really like this one, but what do I know?
