New series of painting grasses. My new interest in doing embroidery has led me to this new series of oil paintings. I was stitching a landscape idea with colorful threads, inventing stitches to create grass blades. The idea of painting grasses popped into my mind. One stitch at a time with embroidery. One stroke at a time for painting. The stitching is informing my painting. I make a brushstroke with paint and I let it be what it is. I don’t stroke over it. When it dries I make other brushstrokes adjacent to it with other related colors. As layers develop, space becomes apparent.
