The small Sonoran Green Toads live in wetlands in south central Arizona and west central Sonora. They are nocturnal and found in mesquite grasslands and creosote flatlands. They are active during the monsoons. While they are not on any list of threatened or endangered species, they are losing habit when farm fields are lost to other purposes.
Fabric collage of Sonoran Green Toad on pieced batik background. Fabrics include cotton quilting fabrics and lace. Texture of the toad's skin is shown by the quilting stitches and the relative smoothness of parts of the toad's skin is shown by the absence or less dense stitching.
