The figurative form is the core of my sculptural work, which also transitioned into this series of teapots. I wanted to accentuate them and make them precious and festive, vivid and colorful confetti-like. Like jewels, their heads/lids resemble gold nuggets. The teapots were sculpted solid, cut into small segments, hollowed out, and reassembled back together. The surfaces are finished with speckled underglazes and the lids with 24K gold luster.
