Jill Malouf is an abstract artist in Dallas, Texas, who spent half her life in law – first as a criminal prosecutor, then civil litigator. Just sit next to her at a dinner party to hear some wild stories!
Raised in San Antonio, Jill loved to watch her mother sketch and paint. She has always been obsessed with creative arts and design, yet felt a calling to the law. Later in life, she found that through painting, she could find peace from the demands of daily stress.
After receiving awards and recognitions – including ‘New Texas Talent’ – Jill left the courtroom for the canvas. Jill’s mission is to bring a sense of calm and relaxation to others through her art.
She relies on her intuition when building upon ever evolving layers and spontaneous changes. Yet, she finds that she constantly battles the need for order and perfection with the freedom of allowing her instincts to take over.
Jill believes that art doesn’t need to overload your senses or be 'in your face' to be captivating. She has created a unique signature style using complex textures, nature inspired colors and fluid shapes. She developed a time-intensive process of experimenting with techniques and mediums, even within the same series.
Jill also draws inspiration from spending time painting in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she and her husband Carter (a private jeweler) got married. They love strolling with their Australian Shepherds into the art galleries on iconic Canyon Road.
Jill's abstract paintings are in galleries and private and corporate collections throughout the U.S. Her works have also been featured in a Dell tv commercial, a museum director's personal collection, and art magazines and other publications.
