The fall colors this year are ablaze and I headed out to paint at Sheep Creek, a nearby creek that trickles into the Missouri River. It's thick with aspens and the glowing color reflects so beautifully off the water.
I had a really good start and then a bear walked right through my scene. I gasped, froze and said a bad word. Then I got busy throwing everything in my pack, equally afraid and irked I couldn't finish on site.
As I was finishing in the studio, I debated painting the bear into the scene. Then I decided that just as I was left wondering where he went, so shall the viewer.
