Finger Rock Trailhead sits at the foothills of Tucson with a nice view of the city below. This was such a peaceful place to paint and as the sun set, the rocks above became ever more vibrant.
This painting will be available at the Amerind Museum & Gallery, "Grass, Stone & Sky", an exhibition of plein air paintings by members of the Sonoran Plein Air Painters. These works celebrate the light, movement, and stillness of southeastern Arizona-a terrain that has drawn human attention for countless generations. Painted outdoors and on location, they capture the golden grasslands, ancient rock, and radiant sky of the Sonoran Desert.
Exhibit open June 2 through Nov 30, 2026.
