"Relocation," is part of a large collection of work, originally exhibited in a solo show at the Evelyn Peeler Peacock Gallery in Corning, NY. In the show, the concept of home in modern society was explored through the improvisational reimagination of the iconic Log Cabin quilt block. The presence or absence of the traditional red center, representing the hearth fire or the warmth of the family/home, tells the story of each piece in this collection. In this particular piece, the artist shared a bit of her own story through her childhood in Indiana, her early adulthood in North Carolina, her current home in New York, and her projected future wherever her children and future grandchildren may lead her.
