Louisiana oak trees represent so many things to me, not the least of which are strength, endurance and love. I wanted to create a painting showing the elemental power and strength of a mighty oak tree, one that spoke of endurance, the kind that survives all with dignity and love of life, And I wanted to create a painting that compels you to reach out and touch the bark. So I painted it very large and textured. This mighty oak tree lives in Audubon Park in New Orleans.
