A mighty oak casting interesting shadows across the walkway with pretty little flowers at its base.

Painted alla prima (in one sitting) on location along the banks of Kinstler Creek behind Stormwater Studios in downtown Columbia. I loved the play of shadows on the sidewalk and the bright pops of color added by the flowers and ivy at the base of the tree.
