Participating in the Newberry Ag+Art Tour was a special treat when I was located at Carter and Holmes Orchids with all their gorgeous blooms and plants. Mac and Bridget were awesome hosts and shared so much rich knowledge about the flowers and how to grow them well yourself at home! Painting live on location is always part of what I do during the tour. Surrounded by all that inspiration, of course, I HAD to paint an orchid! This one is a Moth Orchid, Phalaenopsis. It is a hybrid that goes by the name Gigabell. I roughed in the whole piece onsite then was able to finish it off in my home studio.
