Flower Study - Homage to Monet

Hollyhocks are delicate, old-fashioned flowers, and another of my favourites. In this piece, I wanted to pay homage to Monet - to his daubs of paint and unexpected colours and shimmering forms that evoke such strong emotions from the simplest of subjects.
