Water's Edge is acrylic on Belgian linen with archival inks and graphite. It represents many edges in Newfoundland and its limited palette engages the viewer in remembering places visited and lived. The Belgian linen becomes a 'painted colour' and is integral to the composition and engagement. At once we know the sky is blue, the sea as well and we are asked to determine its tint, tone or shade through the unifying natural colour of the linen.
