This abstract quilt composition evokes organic and rhythmic weaving filled with bold, irregular horizontal and vertical lines. After hand cutting pieces of solid colored fabric, designing the composition, and sewing the pieces together I layered the quilt top with cotton batting and stitched many closely-spaced lines through the layers to add texture. This is called matchstick quilting.
