Green pastures abstracted in long organically-curved lines with figure/ground tension.
I used many values and hues of greens and browns, some flat, some glowing, to bring a lot of depth.
At nearly 7’ square the viewer is enveloped in the pastures or forest.
After hand cutting pieces of solid colored fabric, designing the composition, and sewing the pieces together I layered the quilt top with cotton batting and stitched many closely-spaced lines through the layers to add texture. This is called matchstick quilting.
