This painting evokes the 1940's in the early light of day. It is inspired by what it would be like in a milk bar/ restaurant. There are jugs and cups on the table, The apron made from bulk flour bags, washed and sewn and becoming soft with much washing. I have used a high key, soft light. Oil paint is applied quickly emphasising subtle tonal rendering.
