As I look out of my bedroom window, the morning sun creeps up slowly. The ice on the creek is starting to melt and the colors of the woods are reflecting in the icy water. We are having a few snow flurries today. Looks like the little river is frozen over again, maybe we can go ice skating again!
Details during the creation of the painting: the trees in the background were developed over a series of washes as well as some of the areas of ice on the river. Some of the highlights were accented by using water colored pencil. The painting was on exhibit at the Peninsula School of Art, Fish Creek, Wisconsin, during the "Students and Teachers Exhibit" in 2018.
