Bluenose II is an international sailing ambassador that's homeported in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.
It's mission is to promote the history and legacy of the Bluenose and Bluenose II.
These ships teach and promote seamanship and life skills to young Canadians.
This is a faithful replica of the famous Bluenose schooner, which was launched in 1921 and raced undefeated in internationa competitions for 17 years.

This piece is one of 5 tall ships that were racing from Sturgeon Bay to Chicago on Lake Michigan, July 2019. A local professional photographer, Patti Raine was able to get out on the lake to take photo's of the ships. She was kind enough to let me use them as a reference to render my colored pencil pieces.
