Aaron Hraba was born in Nijmegen, Netherlands, and later moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, where he attended Lincoln High School. He later received his BFA in Photography from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1999, and his MFA in Photography from Syracuse University in New York in 2006. It appears that he also did photography for a brief period at Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Later, he taught as an adjunct professor in Transmedia (photography) and Foundations at Syracuse University in New York and currently resides in Maine. He was formerly an assistant professor of photography at Rhode Island College from 2007-2009.
