Alan Duda was born in 1987 in Boston, Massachusetts, and attended Killingly High School in Connecticut. He went on to earn a BA in Graphic Design from Rhode Island College between 2007 and 2010. While at RIC, Duda worked in the Student Marketing Office, where he created a wide range of graphic designs and logos used across campus. Designed by Duda are much of the Student Union’s visual identity, including door labels, murals, t-shirts, and other branding elements. He also collaborated with the Annual RIC Metals Show in the Art Department and worked with the RIC Hockey Team to develop branding and promotional materials.
Following graduation, Duda established a successful career in graphic design and advertising. He received multiple Hatch Awards through The Ad Club in Boston in 2012 and from 2014 through 2018, was recognized on the One Show Shortlist in New York City in 2018 and was named a One to Watch Finalist by LicenseGlobal in 2016.
Duda currently lives in Phoenix, Arizona, where he works as an Associate Creative Director and Art Director at Decker. His professional portfolio includes branding work for major organizations such as the Boston Celtics, Bernie Sanders for President 2020, Subway, Toyota, the Boston Red Sox, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, and many others. The Student Union mural at RIC was a collaborative project involving approximately five students and was part of a broader rebranding effort led by Marissa Weiss and Kristen Salemi to create a welcoming campus environment.
