This stunning masterpiece in the center of TAAN restaurant is called "Self-Inspection." This image is not made of any kind of color but of a piece of charcoal that has been meticulously sketched. If you look closely, you will see tiny details consisting of different kinds of highly active animals, such as rabbits, birds, and fish, embedded under the calm face with closing eyes, waiting for you to notice.
Even though there is no monkey in there (or is there any?) it represents the monkeys in our minds that never stop playing around. For those who practice meditation, we'll notice that whenever we close our eyes and inspect our own minds, most of the time they're clouded with thoughts and feelings that run around like those animals.
It could also symbolize the creativity and energy that come from being with oneself, hence "self-inspection."
