Maiden (red dog) represents the young bison who emerges with a claylike color to her fur. Goofy and playful in her innocence, she is vulnerable to the slights of the larger world and has lots to learn. This maiden is cradled by the crescent moon, connecting her to her elders with a sliver of protection in the midst of her ever increasing independence. As she matures, she will grow through the phase of Motherhood and then as a Crone, lead the herd in their continued journeys.
