This accounts for the fact that the world saviors taught conduit and not rote religion. When one of his disciples asked Buddha to expound the cause and process of the creation the world, he answered in effect: ' When one is wounded by a poisoned arrow, does he inquire who made the arrow, who feathered or shot it, or does he attempt to pluck it out?'"
