Interior of the Domed Entrance to the Neminath Temple, Dilwara, Mount Abu
- Painting, watercolor on paper
- William Carpenter, English (1818-99)
Known for his paintings in warm watercolors, William Carpenter was in India from 1850 to 1856, during which time he traveled extensively from Bombay (Mumbai) and across western India to Rajasthan, Delhi, Kashmir, Lahore and Afghanistan. Here, Carpenter has skilfully captured the intricately carved marble interior of the temple and activities of visitors to the temple.
