Bhand Deul Jain Temple with Wall Elevation Detail
Although currently in a damaged state, this temple is the most easterly example of a bhumija style shikhara (seen in Marwar) with a stellate sanctum of six shrines and a five-storeyed shikhara with three horizontal rows. It is lavishly carved in the projections and niches with Jain deities identified as cast in the early Kalchuri style of the eleventh century. A sanctum and vestibule survive in this west facing structure. The sanctum enshrines standing Digambar sculptures in black basalt of the Jinas Shanti, Kunthu and Ara.
