This drip painting is derived from photographs of a woman washing outside. The image resonates strongly with the Black experience showing not only our ingenuity but our creativity of navigating cities that didn't often make space for us. Despite our individual ethnicities we find a community and these ways of survival. I represent these people using materials that would resonate with them and with people of the present who are still living in such conditions.
