Voice of the Experienced (VOTE) is a grassroots organization founded and run by formerly incarcerated people, their families and their allies. Their mission is to restore the full human and civil rights of those most impacted by the criminal (in)justice system.

A team of 10 YAM youth artists worked with lead artist Nik Richard, lead educator Journey Allen, and program coordinator Gabrielle Tolliver to create for the VOTE headquarters a mural that explores the history of voting rights in the United States. It highlights the stories of the VOTE team and their fight against mass incarceration.
