These 22-foot tall, colorfully painted ceremonial arches were installed at Behrman Park in Algiers in 1993. Synchronicity, according to artist Thomas Mann, is about the convergence of visual and conceptual elements. The visual mission was to create a recognition point for the park from the street, and the conceptual mission was to incorporate the sculpture with the playful purpose of the park. The colors, geometric forms, and suggestions of movement are all conjoined to produce the desired final effect.
