Depicting a deconstructed trumpet form, "Heart Full of Rhythm" is a tribute to the life and legacy of Louis Daniel Armstrong also known as "Satchmo." Coming to prominence in the 1920s as an inventive trumpet and cornet player, Armstrong was a foundational influence in jazz, shifting the focus of the music from collective improvisation to solo performance. Armstrong was one of the first popular African-American entertainers to have his music transcended his skin color in a racially divided America. His voice and trumpet became a toll that built a bridge over the inequality he was faced with in the 1920s.
