The​​ Virtual​​ Krewe​​ of​​ Vaporwave​​ (VKV)​​ is ​​a​​ collective​​ of hackers,​​ breakers,​​ thinkers,​​ and​​ coders​​ from​​New​​Orleans​​ and beyond.​​ VKV ​​is ​​focused​​ on​​ deconstructing​​ the​​ relationship between ​​art​​ and​​commerce ​​using ​​20th​​ century ​​media,​​ cultural landmarks, ​​and now-obsolete​​ technology.

Founded​​ in​​ 2016,​​ VKV ​​has ​​produced​​ two​​ Virtual​​ Parades. VKV​​ occasionally ​​appears​​ IRL,​​ hosting​​ its ​​own​​ events​​ and installing ​​projects​​ locally.​​ VKV​​ has​​ worked​​ with​​ New​​ Orleans Film​​ Fest,​​ The​​ Jazz​​ and​​ Heritage​​ Foundation,​​ the​​ New​​ Orleans Mini​​ Maker ​​Faire,​​ and​​ musical​​ artists ​​such​​ as ​​Boyfriend​​ and Sex party.
