Virginia’s interest in art began with a weekly class she took as a child. Minoring in art history, studying painting in Italy and various community classes continued to feed her appetite. After spending several years in education, for nearly the past decade Virginia has pursued her own art practice. Inspired by shapes and colors found in nature, fashion, the human form, ancient architecture, and negative spaces, Virginia enters an uncharted process with each new work. Applying, removing and layering paint are the backbone of her progression. Unattachment is always the goal, as every work takes on a life of its own.
Virginia is a member of Where Y'art Works and is represented by Gregg Irby Gallery in Atlanta.
