Reuben Cheatem received his B.F.A. from the University of Kansas. His paintings, in addition to realistic portrayal of the human experience and funny caricatures, are most recognizable for the utilization of acrylic, spray paint, and other media to create depth, atmosphere and movement within his vibrant and intricately organized structural abstractions. His balance of strict order and "happy accidents" creates a beautiful harmony that journey's the viewer's eye around the canvas as if following a map or searching for a maze's end.
