Linda Lesperances's artwork is a reflection of her surrounding community—the Black Pearl neighborhood of Uptown New Orleans—where she has lived for more than 25 years. Lesperance is a figurative painter who works in oils on canvas or wood panel. Many of her "scenes" are taken from composites of photography, either her own or from vintage sources. Her goal is to tell a visual story about the local culture in which she lives and works and to inspire others in her belief that we are all the same no matter how we started or from where we came.
