The symbolic nature of life has been of interest to Lauren L. Zarambo for decades. It inspires her still lives, plein air landscapes, and figurative work. She paints primarily in the mediums of watercolor and oil. Zarambo's current focus is a continuation of the conscious use Nature's proportions to create a greater sense of space within the picture frame.
Zarambo was introduced to sacred geometry through the academic study of painting at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts. Prior to her study there, she received a BFA from the University of Southwestern Louisiana and continued her studies at the Kansas City Art Institute. I later spent two years studying the Venetian masters in Venice Italy. From New Orleans to New York and full circle back to my birthplace, Connecticut, I choose to paint from life, ‘plein aire’, because it is a direct source. "By consciously honoring and utilizing Nature we access our direct connection to the divine," explains Zarambo, "the essence of what we are. I intend my work to enliven the environment it inhabits and those who view it."
