Eleanor Smith was born and raised in New Orleans and educated inOrleans parish public schools.She has a B.FA in painting with honors from Newcomb College and a M. F.A. in painting from Tulane University. She has been in numerous group shows around the United States including NOMA’s Biennial, the Louisiana Open at the Contemporary Art Center and the Delta Art Exhibition at the Arkansas Arts Center.She has been represented by the Bienville Gallery and the Mario Villa Gallery of New Orleans. Her paintings are in numerous collections around the United States including the Lykes Steamship Company and the Prince Conti Hotel.She is also an accomplished portrait painter with portraits in many New Orleans homes.
