For more than 25 years, Corey Allen's art has been displayed in various galleries, restaurants, and coffee shops throughout New Orleans. Pre-Katrina, Allen's studio was in the Faubourg St. John neighborhood in Mid-City. Following Katrina, he re-established himself in the charming community of Algiers Point.
A driving force behind Allen's work comes from the people, places, music, and food of New Orleans. With so many themes, he tries to paint what is familiar, such as the local scenery and hangouts in his neighborhood. New Orleans music is also a BIG part of his art. Allen aims to capture the sounds of the city, with vibrantly colored backgrounds that simulate music on a canvas. In addition to New Orleans, his world travels have inspired a way to express moments in time, on canvas, that help recall the place visited.
