
Charlie T. Johnson is an artist, art educator, and art advocate who creates in various media. With a Bachelor of Education and a Masters of Fine Arts, he prefers realistic painting and experiments with symbolic mixed media compositions. Though he is a retired professor from Southern University at New Orleans, Johnson works tirelessly as an art educator and a human rights advocate, and he actively promotes recognition for fellow artists.
Johnson's artwork has been exhibited in the United States, Africa, Europe, Canada, and in numerous local exhibits. The recipient of numerous honors and art awards, Johnson has also served as the President of the New Orleans African American Museum of Art, on the History and Culture Board of Directors, and as past president of the New Orleans Chapter of the National Conference of Artists.
