Ashley Teamer was born in New Orleans. Her multimedia artwork explores the complexities of black femininity through painting, collage, and animation. She was an Artist-in-Residence at the Joan Mitchell Center and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. Most recently, Teamer showed work at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art in New Orleans, Los Angeles LGBT Center in California, and Echo Park Film Center in Los Angeles. In March 2019, she opened her second solo show, Talk of the Town, at Larrie in New York, NY.
