Alex Podesta was born in North Carolina and got taller in Virginia. As an adult, he became a life-long child of New Orleans. His more formative artistic study took place at the Governor’s Magnet School for the Arts, Virginia Commonwealth University, and the University of New Orleans, where he earned an MFA in 2007. Since then Podesta has exhibited locally, nationally and internationally.

Additionally, his work has been featured in numerous sources including ARTnews, Sculpture Magazine, Oxford American, ArtPapers, Times Picayune, HiFructose, Beautiful Decay and the Washington Post.
