Jackie Sanders, a Raleigh, North Carolina based abstract geometric artist, specializes in original paintings, art projects, and murals that transform life’s mundane moments into memorable experiences.
Expanding on her continuous practice of questioning the spaces in which we exist, her work activates the connection between opposing, yet inevitably linked, elements of our human existence – light and shadow, dominance and balance, nature and technology, structure and intuitive action, gestural and rigid marks, control and powerlessness.
Influenced by cityscape architecture and the observation of social spatial relationships, her work amplifies the awareness of and promotes a dialogue about the boundaries that exist in our public spaces, both physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Rooted in universal yet deeply personal questions, her work is used as a channel to help others reconnect with their minds, bodies, and community spaces. Her art is a continuation of her lifelong tendency to manufacture stability by imposing structure onto life’s chaotic moments, as a means of seeking balance and inner peace.
Jackie has a public facing art studio in downtown Raleigh at Artspace and is the co-founder of the Level Up Artist Podcast where she interviews career-minded regional, national, and international artists about how they define success.
