Iceberg "Splash" (black frame)

This massive iceberg was found in the waters around Pleneau and Booth Islands. It may have calved from a floating ice shelf rather than from a glacier, since the ice appears devoid of sand and gravel. The deep notches on the sides that create the "splash" effect were likely melted by wave action, perhaps helped by sunshine.
