This massive iceberg was found in the waters around Pleneau and Booth Islands as we cruised the Antarctic Peninsula. It may have calved from a floating ice shelf rather than from a glacier, since the ice appears devoid of sand and gravel. The deep notches on the sides that create the "splash" effect were likely melted by wave action, perhaps helped by sunshine. The image is framed with a white mat and silver metal frame.
